Turkmenistan Takes Third Place at «Grand Prix Genoa Open 2026»
The Turkmenistan national team won 18 medals at a ranking international jiu-jitsu tournament held in Genoa, Italy. Following the competition, Turkmen athletes secured third place in the overall medal standings, earning 7 gold, 6 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
More than 450 athletes from 30 countries participated in the tournament.
The national team included 18 athletes representing various educational institutions across the country. The gold medalists were Soltanmyrat Nuryyev (56 kg), Shyhberdi Rakhmanov (62 kg), Yslam Ovezov (69 kg), Rakhmet Taganov (77 kg), Suray Gokgayeva (57 kg), Khurma Abdyyeva (52 kg), and Eziz Yollyyev (85 kg).
Silver medals were claimed by Bayram Rovshenov (56 kg), Aynur Kullyyeva (48 kg), Suleyman Nuryyev (62 kg), Annagurt Amanmyradov (77 kg), Seyran Dovvayev (85 kg), and Gudrat Esenov (69 kg).
Bronze medalists were Aynur Kullyyeva (Ne-waza), Abdyrahman Garajayev (56 kg), Dayanch Kulyyev (77 kg), Parahat Rakhmanov (62 kg), and Bagtyyar Myradov (85 kg).
Italy topped the medal table with 50 medals (17 gold, 14 silver, 19 bronze). Kazakhstan placed second with 25 medals (7 gold, 10 silver, 8 bronze).
